Who are we?
We are a group of Jewish students and allies committed to supporting the ideas of free expression, tolerance, and community for Jewish students at the George Washington University. We are also a non-partisan organization, not meaning that we do not publish partisan ideas, but meaning that on an organizational level, we do not affiliate with any specific political ideology.
Why were we created?
We were founded in response to an insufficient ability for Jewish students to write and be heard on their own terms and by their own community at GWU. In a heavy political school environment that has faced scrutiny for allegations of anti-Semitic conduct, there was simply no place for Jewish students to write about their experiences, both with international affairs and politics, but also with cultural events. In the time since, it has become abundantly clear that Tekiah has filled a need that was previously underserved by allowing our writers to write whatever it is they feel about their Jewishness in the world, so long as decorum and good conduct expectations are abided by.
When were we founded?

We were founded in the summer of 2025 as a subsidiary of the George Washington University’s chapter of Jewish on Campus.
Since that point, we have been lead by a board of seven members.
